SEASONED HARDWOOD
THE SEASONING PROCESS
1) TREE FELLING: From fully sustainable forests, Tree Surgeons will carefully select designated trees to be harvested for Firewood or the Timber Trade.
2) HARVESTING: Once felled the trees are carefully taken to designated areas for part seasoning and transportation.
3) TRANSPORTATION: The fallen trees are then stacked onto specialist lorries for delivery to the processing yard.
4) PROCESSING: Specialist processing machines then cut the logs to size and then split into smaller pieces ready for your wood burner.
5) SEASONING: The split logs are then placed in a dry area and allowed to air dry naturally. Depending on species this can take from 6 to 24 months.
Our Seasoned Hardwood allows you to buy the firewood at a cheaper rate as the firewood has been naturally air dried to below 20% moisture and has not been forced dried in a kiln.
On average these logs will contain between 18 to 20% moisture capacity and ready to burn on your fire. Unlike a Kiln Dried Log which is forced dried the moisture content will rarely full below 18% .
The contents of the Bags will contain various mixed Hardwoods. Ash, Beech, Oak, Silver Birch and Sycamore, all of which will give you a long burn time.
We believe the quality of our Seasoned Hardwood is unbeatable for both efficiency and price in Cornwall and Devon with FREE DELIVERY on all products.
